PT KAI tells residents about eviction plan
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) held an
event on Monday to inform Tanah Tinggi residents in Tangerang city about its
plan to acquire their land, which would be affected by the railway development
of the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport commuter line.
Tangerang district chief Gunawan told
tribunnews.com that the event was jointly held by KAI and the National Land
Agency (BPN) Tangerang, and was the second attempt to persuade residents to
relocate, with the first held in 2013.
One of the residents, Evan, opposed the
plan because he did not have anywhere else to go if his land was acquired. “I
definitely reject the plan. My family has lived on this land for generations,”
he said.
Others, like Sayuti and Abdurrahman,
said they had agreed to the relocation as long as the land’s price was
appropriate.
Abdurrahman said he did not want to
hinder the government program, which would provide easier access to the
airport, and said besides the land acquisition, KAI and BPN Tangerang also had
to think about the residents’ temporary housing.

Comment and my opinion :
I think, the actions taken by PT. KAI
and National Land Agency ( BPN) appropriate to the procedure and is correct.
Because it has been letter some times PT. KAI and National Land Agency ( BPN) give
a notification. But PT. KAI and Government
must work together to find or seek feasible housing for the people.
If the plan PT. KAI to make the
railway line towards soekarno hatta airport soon materialized this is a good
and a positive because it is easier access if you want to go to soekarno hatta
airport is planned to be through line manggarai.
With the presence possibility of access
can reduce the congestion that occurs on the highway towards the airport,
besides it is also more efficient time. But I think the new problems arise
because of the presence of this pathway plan will turn off damri bus because
people prefer to access by train.
therefore needs help from the
government, especially PT. KAI, National Land Agency ( BPN) and the public so
that all can run fast without any hindrance. for people who have to
follow orders will
be evicted because the common
good.
